About us

Tsukuba Strides Running Club is a membership running club offering running courses and training sessions for runners of all abilities, including absolute beginners, at parks and public areas around the city.

Our courses

Absolute Beginners – 8 Week Course

Do you want to be able to run, but don’t know how to start training?
Our Absolute Beginners course will help you kick-start your running life with a training program which combines walking and running, to gradually increase your strength and stamina until you are able to run for 25-30 minutes continuously.
Course includes weekly sessions lasting from 45minutes to 1 hour, advice and guidance plus a training program for 2 more workouts between sessions.

• February 2 to March 23, 2009 – Every Monday evening 6:30pm – 7:30pm
• February 3 to March 24, 2009 – Every Tuesday morning 9:30am – 10:30am
• February 4 to March 25, 2009 – Every Wednesday evening 6pm – 7pm

Course cost: 8000 yen

Beginners – 13 Week Course

Have you tried running before but find it too hard to keep going?
Would you love to be able to run 5km or even 10km?
Our Beginners course will help you improve your running life with a training program which combines walking and running, to gradually increase your strength and stamina until you are able to run for up to 60 minutes continuously.
Course includes weekly sessions lasting from 45mins to 1hour, advice and guidance plus a training program for 2 more workouts between sessions.

• February 3 to April 28, 2009 – Every Tuesday morning 10:30am – 11:30am
• February 3 to April 28, 2009 – Every Tuesday evening 6pm – 7pm
• February 6 to April 24, 2009 – Every Friday evening 6:30pm – 7:30pm

Course fee: 12,000 yen

Trial Classes
Anyone is welcome to try out a class once without committing to a full course. (Please contact us in advance)

Class fee: 1000yen

Intermediate and Advanced
For more intermediate and advanced level runners, please contact us directly to discuss your requirements and we will try to provide a class or course to suit your needs.

Personal Training
Individual sessions are also available for 8000yen per lesson.

We love running, and hope you will get as much fun out of it as we do. Whatever your reasons for wanting to run; to improve your fitness, to tackle a 5k or 10k race, to lose weight, or just get out in the fresh air, you will almost certainly get enjoyment and motivation from running with other people and a sense of achievement as you work towards your goals.
